Our Impact

Our role is grounded in real work on real landscapes. Peaks to People Water Fund brings people together to invest in healthy, resilient watersheds before disasters occur.  By creating shared strategies, aligning partners, and helping organizations work together more effectively, we expand what is possible across Northern Colorado.

Since 2017, we have directed $2 million toward high-priority forest restoration and watershed resilience projects, leveraging an additional $7.6 million through partnerships. Together, we have supported more than 3,200 acres of restoration while advancing landscape-scale strategies that protect drinking water, strengthen ecosystems, reduce catastrophic wildfire risk, and enhance nature’s ability to provide essential benefits for people, agriculture, wildlife, and future generations.

Max Erickson, Colorado State Forest Service

“Peaks to People has created a reliable and actionable framework for partners to collaborate on projects and innovate new ways of strategic planning. Peaks to People plays a big role in its ability to expand project footprints by bringing together individual partners and opportunities for additional funding.”  — Max Erickson, Supervisory Forester, Fort Collins Field Office, Colorado State Forest Service

Our collaborative work helps many additional projects move forward by connecting partners, aligning funding, and coordinating implementation across the landscape. By blending science, partnerships, and investment, Peaks to People is helping Northern Colorado move from isolated projects to coordinated, landscape-scale stewardship.
