Your Role

Forest health and water quality and security are important to all of us. Affecting real change in our watershed is crucial and will take a village. Whether you own forested land in the Big Thompson or Cache la Poudre watersheds, work in a water-dependent industry or are simply just concerned about the condition of our forests and water supply, we encourage you to get involved. Peaks to People Water Fund needs:

Donors

Whether you are a water dependent business or are interested in safeguarding our watersheds for the benefit of our community, supporting Peaks to People is a wise choice. Each donation will support essential forest restoration projects in the Big Thompson and Cache la Poudre watersheds, which in turn will protect water, habitat, commerce and recreation.

When you invest in Peaks to People, our team will work with you to determine how to put your funds to the best use, based on your priorities. Treatment types and locations will be tailored to your needs and budget. Using science-based tools, Peaks to People will provide an estimate of the risk reduction outcomes of your donation, and will monitor and report on the actual results over time. Peaks to People takes on the full responsibility of having the treatments implemented and verifying the outcomes for you.

We also welcome business and individuals that cannot fund an entire project to champion our cause. If you are a business or an individual interested in making a donation, please contact us. We pool all donations together to fund complete projects on the horizon.

Landowners, forest stewards and public land managers

Healthy forests and rangelands are not only important for the quality and security of your property, they’re important for the greater good of the Big Thompson and Cache la Poudre watersheds. When many area land stewards come together to thin the footprint of the forest, the collective impact of the treatment reduces wildfire risk and protects our water quality and quantity, habitat, economic health and recreational opportunities.

When you work with the Peaks to People Water Fund, your land will first be assessed to determine if it meets treatment criteria and priority measures. Peaks to People will seek an investor with aligned priorities to fund the implementation of forest health treatments on site.

If you own or manage land in the Cache la Poudre or Big Thompson watersheds and are interested in learning more about partnering with Peaks to People, please contact us.
